Task

Design a house for specific people on a specific site. (chosen randomly between the groups)

Description

Chosen people / "family" are public figures of Estonia, Benton - musician and Lapin - artist, architect.

Chosen site is located at Koidu 24, a hidden, quiet and surprising place in Kassisaba district of Tallinn.

The most important characteristics of the site are: hidden place, existing boundary wall, open yet "closed" space.

The main idea of the design revolves around walls and boundaries that are sometimes disrupted and opened.

The house should be constructed as layers of privacy and transparency where sometimes the house is opened more or less for the public when the artists Benton and Lapin would have some kind of event / exhibition etc. The wall is main building block and therefore it is varied in width to also become equipment or even a small room.
