FRAGMENTATION OF EXISTING PATTERNS
Project info

Consultant: prof. Dipl. Ing. Manfred Wolff‐Plottegg & Mag. arch. Kristína Rypáková
Task
"In another place, with another use."
Creation of a new building, complex or urbanism through analysis and transformation of already established architectural methods and processes. Start from any chosen existing or conceptual building.
Description
Starting point is a conceptual prison building consisting of circular forms. Generating method is segmentation and stretching of forms but without interrupting infinite looped connections between circular structures. Using these principles but in inverted manner - fragmentation, I tested this new method on existing geometrical patterns. In the project I used a part of an enormous student dormitory town and with the use of earlier mentioned principles I created a new complex of buildings to be used as a university campus. New form offers more open spatial arrangement with better light conditions and mixing of functions. Further adjustments were made based on the new site location in the same city - Bratislava. Then a proposal of a smaller part of the campus was created.
